Jozef GRZEGORCZYN

During World War Two, Jozef served in the 1st Polish Armoured Division in Europe, including battles in France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany.

 

After the war, he spent two years in Germany with the occupation forces, before spending some time in the UK.

Emigrating to Canada, he settled in Winnipeg and worked at the Anthes Foundry as a professional boiler maker until his retirement.

He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 246.  Jozef and his wife Anastazja enjoyed participating in the activities of the Polish community in Winnipeg.

Jozef passed away in Winnipeg on 3 April 2003. He is buried at the Holy Ghost Cemetery in Winnipeg.
