Jan was Buszta was born on 14 December 1908 to Wawrzyniec Buszta and Julia nee Woytosiszen in Rychcice, Drohobycz province, Poland.

From 1931, Jan served in the Polish Army, and he fought in the September Campaign in Poland in 1939.

​

From 1941 to 1945 he served as Sergeant-Major in the 10th Brigade of the HQ Squadron of the 1st Polish Armoured Division.

​

Jan married Christina Nobelen on 30 April 1945 in Dongen, Netherlands. Jan and his wife operated a general store in Dongen, and raised a family there.

​

Died in 1981 in Dongen, Netherlands.
